Summer

Well, as most of you all know, Angelo was born last summer on July 9, 2010. It has been a crazy year trying to be a good mom, wife, and teacher. I am so excited that it is summer, I can be a stay at home mom :). My first order of business as a stay at home mom is Angelo's first birthday party. Angelo's first birthday party is next Saturday on his actual birthday. I have had so much fun planning it. It is going to be a pirate pool party. I have spent a lot of money on decorations. In fact, when he is older I hope he wants another pirate party or may be a pirate Halloween party because I would really like to reuse this stuff. I am so excited I am going to continue searching online for cute ideas. I love the internet!!

Our Honeymoon in Villa Gessel

There are some people who are amazing at updating blogs, I am not! However, something really cool happened last week that I wanted to share. Angel and I finally had our Honeymoon. We went to Villa Gessel, it is a town on the Atlantic Coast in Argentina. It is winter here, so there wasn't that many people. It was peaceful and really fun. We went sandboarding, went to plays, climbed 300 steps to the top of a lighthouse, walked along the beach, and well other things..... We had fun, except on Thursday we had some bad pizza and got food poisoning - not fun on a honeymoon! Well, until later!

You married someone you met on your mission??!!

I got the inspiration to write this post while reading another post. In this post this person explained how they met their future husband on their mission. She feels that she was called to that area for many reasons and he was one of them. I couldn't agree more. Many of you know that Angel and I met on our missions also. I believe we were meant to be too. I love him very much and something many of you don't know was that I was hesitant on marrying him. The reason is because I am a people pleaser - still working on that. I knew when I got home from my mission and Angel and I started talking again that I really was in love with him and wanted our relationship to last forever. However, in the back of my mind I thought of what people might think if I married someone from my mission. I prayed and prayed and Heavenly Father helped me to see that I don't need to worry about what other people think - and obviously I married him :-). Every once in a while, when I tell people how we met I get the comment in the title of this post. I cringe and feel a little embarrassed, but I love my husband. I know we were meant to be together, I felt it when I prayed and feel it now. What I think is cool about Angel and I is that we have that common bond of our mission. We can both say our mission was the best mission in the world and we are both right (go mighty TSAM). We can remember places and people and not have to explain the situation to death. We keep that missionary spirit alive within us because of where we met. So for everyone out there - Don't go on a mission to meet your husband/wife- but if you do, it can be a wonderful blessing!

Catch Up - Fantasma de la Opera

Okay, so I know it has been a long time. I could say I have been really busy, but who hasn´t. So some great news is that our Petition has been approved - we now have to wait for the national visa center to contact the embassy in Buenos Aires to get his visa interview. We are so excited! Por fin! Vamos a estar juntos pronto! We will be together soon. We will get to feel like a real married couple. I am in Argentina right now spending spring break with my love. Last night we went to see "La Fantasma de la Opera" It was great. It was really well done. We sat in the 2nd row in the balcony. We had really good seats. We could see everything. It was a beautiful theatre - the actors were very talented. Although the lady who sang the part of Carlotta sang really loud, when she sang you couldn´t here anything else. It was really good though! I reccomend it.

Saturday at Knott's and Sunday at Church

This Saturday I took a group of young adults to Knott's Berry Farm. I am the advisor of the KIWIN'S club at Camarillo High School. This Saturday was there Rally to get excited about the year comming up. There were KIWIN'S clubs from all over southern California. They are a service club sponsered by the well known Kiwanis club. They are a good group of kids. I have to say though, that I have never been so bored at a Theme Park. All I did was shop. I bought two jams, with a whole day of shopping, I am impressed I didn't buy more!

On Sunday, I was called as the Young Women Secretary. This will be a fun new calling, the young women in my ward are really sweet and very welcomming. I am very blessed!

Election Day

Today is election day! We are fighting for liberty just like Captain Moroni did in the Book of Mormon. I saw this picture up in Church and I thought it was incredible art. Last night we did our last hoorah! for Proposition 8, and I made calls to over 150 people to remind them to vote. I hope Proposition 8 passes. If not we will be headed down toward Sodom and Gomorrah. I love this country and I hope we can choose the right and be a chosen people. God Bless America!
