Today I stood on a corner and held up a sign for "Yes on 8" For those who are unaware: Proposition 8 would add a line to the Constitution of the United States: Marriage will be between a man and woman. I thought that we had resolved this issue several years ago with Proposition 22. However, judges thought that the people were unfair and are making homosexuals a "special interest group." The ramifications of this are extraordinary. I could be considered a "bigot" because I don't believe that homosexuals should marry. I have nothing against people who choose that lifestyle. I do disagree with the lifestyle. That is my belief, but if I am required by law to accept it, that goes against my beliefs (and separation of church and state). Today I learned people think we are promoting hate, that we are bigots and we want "fags to die." These are words "they" (people against Proposition 8) are using. I would never refer to homosexuals like that. I know people who are gay. So I guess what I am saying is that people need to be more informed on what Proposition 8 is for and not ignorantly call names. More information on Propostion 8: protectmarriage.org
Angel y Brandae Rossini

Wedding

Silly me! I forgot to announce: We got married! We were married in Argentina on August 13, 2008. So now this really is the blog of the Rossini Family. It was a small wedding, however my parents were able to come. We were married civilly first (as is the law there). Then we were married in the Buenos Aires Argentina Temple. It was so beautiful! We are now married for time and all eternity!
We had a small party in his ward's chapel. If you would like to see our pictures just follow this link: http://picasaweb.google.com/angelybrandae
Bad News - Spiritual Experience
So on September 22, 2008 Angel and I received very bad news. The embassy told us that since we were married that we would have to reapply for the visa. They rejected the visa. We are now far apart for even longer. That Monday I was really really really sad. I went to my parents house for comfort. We had Family Home Evening that night. My mom put in a video. It just happened to be on the lesson where Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will give us peace and happiness and support us in hard times. I was amazed and overwhelmed with the love Heavenly Father has for me. That he can show me his love through a simple Family Home Evening lesson. I know Heavenly Father loves each and everyone of his children!

I love you Baby

Immigration and L.A.

Update on our visa: We received a request for more evidence. I (Brandae) had the worst day in my life to resolve it in Los Angeles. I called immigration because it said we had to translate a foreign document. However, they didn't tell us which one and we already had important documents translated. Immigration told me that they couldn't help me over the phone and I had to go to L.A. to get it worked out. I made an appointment. The only times they had opened were during school hours- I had to get a sub :(. On my way to L.A. I got lost and probably ended up paying $100 (not exagerating) for parking. While there they told me the people on the phone lied to me and they couldn't help me either. I had to see a lawyer. So I got a list of free lawyers and made an appointment with one who basically told me I need to translate everything by tomorrow. (Oh yeah, they gave me the notice for more evidence on a Thursday I called immigration on Friday, made my appointment for the first available time, Monday and the evidence was due that Friday!). In the process between my appointment with immigration and the lawyer, my phone died which killed my comunication with Angel who was guiding me through L.A. and I couldn't find a T-Mobile. My phone broke and only the keys 1,4,7, * worked, I bought a phone charger at AT&T that I had to hold a certain way so it would work, and was paying through my nose for parking! Needless to say I got nothing productive done in L.A. The next time I called Angel I told him I would only marry him on one condition: We NEVER live in L.A.!!
